When Rahu and/or Ketu engulg the Sun or the Moon eclipse occurs.Then solar /Lunar rays are spoiled,soiled and polluted with excrement. Beacause solar and lunar rays permeate the entire earth every thing on earth is totally spoiled.So nothing can be eaten drunk or cooked during an eclipse.
After the eclipse everything MUST be washed with pious waters of holy rivers or oceans. "
